Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship through music at the 11:00 a.m. service. Choir members range in age from teens to seniors, with talent levels from novice to persons with degrees in music. The major strength of this choir is each person’s love of music and the appreciation of a very broad range of musical styles – from Bach chorales to the music of today’s composers. The choir members and director welcome anyone who loves to sing and they invite you to join this fellowship of enthusiastic singers. The choir rehearses every other Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Chancel Choir room. For more information, contact Julie Ricciardi.
Children’s Choir
Hillyer’s Children’s Choir appears in our worship service regularly and is open to all children ages 3 - 5th grade. If you have little ones who love to sing, we would love for them to join us! Please contact Sarah Seibert or Julie Ricciardi for more information on their next rehearsal time.
Hillyer Community Chorus
The Hillyer Community Chorus was founded in 1970 under the sponsorship of Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, which continues to be the largest sponsor today. The purpose of the chorus is to present major choral works with orchestra, twice a year, and to offer singers in the community the opportunity to learn and produce works that are worthy but rarely heard. For the past 35 years, the chorus has performed approximately 108 choral and orchestral works, many of which have been premieres in the United States or North Carolina. Singers range in age from teens to over 80 and come from all walks of life in and around the Raleigh-Durham area. No auditions or dues are required, music is provided, and no special performance attire is necessary. The only requirement for membership is the love of singing. The choir rehearses every other Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Chancel Choir room. For more information, contact Julie Ricciardi.
